The Pyramids had immense symbolic significance

The Egyptians originally came from the area known today as Ethiopia. They referred to the fertile Nile valley as 'kemet', or 'the black land' and called themselves 'remet-en-kemet' or the 'people of the black land.'

Early Egypt was composed of two kingdoms, Upper and Lower Egypt. Its people lived in the countryside, using towns and temples as service centers and dwelling places. There were a few large cult areas, the principal being Memphis and Thebes, but for the most part, the country contained scattered villages and markets.

It was in 3100 B.C. that Menes, a king of Upper Egypt, conquered the north and unified the country. This was the beginning of a civilization that was to survive into the age of Classical Greece and Rome. Today historians distinguish five historic periods: the Old, Middle and New Kingdoms, each a time of success or consolidated government, and the intervening First and Second Intermediate periods, which were marked by weakness and disruption from external and internal causes.

It was under the Old Kingdom - ca. 2685-2186 B.C. - that the pharaoh came to be viewed as the absolute lord of the land. Conceived not just as king but as god, he controlled every aspect of society, including art and dress. Visual proof of pharaonic power can be found in the great pyramids at Giza, testaments to an unsurpassed social and administrative concentration of human labor, including slavery.

Pyramids had immense symbolic significance: their shape represented the sun's rays slanting to earth and functioned as 'stairway to heaven' for the pharaoh's soul. Their internal structure was highly descriptive as well, as were some of the paintings on the walls, which portrayed aspects of the occupants' daily lives, and illustrated how they would spend their afterlife. Everyday scenes decorated the walls of tombs, temples, and palaces, and it is from these that archeologists have gleaned much of their knowledge about Egyptian clothes.

We purchased 20 cloth diapers and 4 plastic covers

The cost of baby is a major concern for many people. This article will give a brief overview of some of the baby cost expenses that you'll encounter over the first year and second year raising baby. Having gone through the experience twice I'll show you some tips and tricks that will help to tiffany jewellery reduce the annual baby cost and monthly cost of baby expenses, diapers, clothing and food etc. Plus I'll go over some things that you might not have thought of, for example life insurance.

Let's start off with the obvious, clothes and diapers. Chances are you'll be getting a ton of clothing as gifts from family and friends. I know with us we never really had to buy a lot of necessities. The first couple of years we've either been given clothes. You usually get a lot with your baby is first year. You might want to register at your favourite store for clothes and whatever else you think prom Dresses you'll need so people won't be giving you too many multiples of what you need. But if you find you're still in need of clothes and you're on a budget there are plenty of second-hand children's stores to go to.

The question that will probably come up is how much clothing do I need? For the first six month depending on the season and the child you'll need a lot of receiving blankets (7 to 10) to swaddle and keep them warm. There are swaddling blankets already made that you can purchase. You'll also need between 8 to 10 one piece outfits. My wife found that she would go through 3 to 4 outfits a day.

With diapers, we bought a package of newborns before our kids were born. After that my wife did a mixture of cloth and disposable. We purchased 20 cloth diapers and 4 plastic covers. We would also go through 1 to 2 packages of diapers a month.

One of the most important, if not the most important thing you should consider is having the proper amount of life insurance as part of your baby cost expenses. I'm not here to lecture but the question you really need to ask yourself is, will my baby be properly cared for financially if I'm not here. I know it's a topic we don't like to talk about but it's something we owe to our dependents to handle.

How much life insurance should you wedding dresses have is the next logical question. The rule of thumb is you take your annual income and multiply it by 10 then you add any other expenses you would want to pay off, like your mortgage or any outstanding debts. The equation would look something like the following: Assuming an annual salary of $50,000 and a mortgage we'd want to get paid off of $200,000:
$50,000 x 10 + $200,000 = $700,000

The reason you multiply by 10 is you would take the $500,000 and put it into a fairly conservative mutual fund that over time pays between 8% - 10% annual rate of return. This way your dependents could live off the interest which would be roughly what your annual salary would have been and the principle ($500,000) is not touched.

The other point that needs to be made is what type of life insurance should you get. Generally there are two types and they're called cash value and term insurance. The most suitable for the vast majority is called term insurance. It gives you the most coverage for the least amount of money.

I'll go into other baby cost expenses in another post. I'll go into more detail about the differences of the two types of life insurance and why should only be looking at term insurance. In the meantime I strongly suggest that you get a number of insurance quotes. I've provided one reputable source in the link below. Talk to you soon.

The Hallmarks of a Great Product

Most high quality replica jewelry makers mimic the designer brands exactly in the product design but keep the costs down by using cheaper materials. That is why a replica ring that looks like a tiffany diamond ring can be a quarter of the price or less – it looks the same, but the diamond is not real and instead of platinum, the ring setting may be sterling silver or some other less expensive material.

If you want to spot the real thing however, all you have to do is look for the hallmark. When a jewelry designer uses a so called precious metal when creating their piece of jewelry, they are required by federal law in the United States to mark their tiffany jewelry with a hallmark – a company logo or insignia that shows where that piece of jewelry came from. When a hallmark has to be used is dictated by how much of the metal is used in the setting. Replica makers do not use enough of the metal to require a hallmark, while high end jewelry designers always do.

One thing to watch out for, however – some replica jewelry makers try to convince their customers that they are using precious metals, so they can try to charge a higher price. Simply look for the hallmark on the product. If you don’t see one, the tiffany jewellery maker is trying to scam you.

Let the Experts Weigh In

Many replica jewelry makers do things like replacing precious stones with semi precious stones in their jewelry designs to cut down on production costs. However, semi precious stones are not necessarily cheap, and there is another level of stones – imitations made from plastics – that some replica designers use instead. These are used on necklaces, earrings and even celtic engagement rings.

Whereas jewelry made with semi precious stones may cost a few hundred dollars, cheap tiffany jewellery made from plastics can cost less than $10. However, some replica jewelry makers attempt to sell plastics at semi precious prices. Get your jewelry checked out by an appraiser even when buying semi precious stones to make sure you are not getting taken to the cleaners.

Tiffany believes in the concept of pearls

It seems no strange if a company is bankrupt or closed at this time, any day you can hear such kind of news. Now, diamond prices are falling but it looks like the stones may still be more popular than pearls. Tiffany & Co.is in the process of closing Iridesse, its spin-off brand of stores focusing exclusively on pearls. The stores launched in 2004 and there are currently 16 Irdiesse stores open. Tiffany spokes woman Linda Buckley is quoted by JCK as saying that the store closings will occur as they make arrangements with landlords and sell off inventory but that the move should happen within the next few months. Buckley also says that Tiffany believes in the concept of pearls-only stores but that the current economy couldn’t support the separate business. The news come just as Michelle Obama’s official White House portrait is revealed. The First Lady shows off toned bare arms and a double strand of pearls around her neck.
